Over the years, Uda has completed numerous projects with Western Dakota Tech (WDT) ranging from small renovations and maintenance to the latest campus expansion. Working closely with the administration, we designed four separate program expansion projects. A new 32,000 sq. ft. Diesel Service Technology building included 10 diesel service bays designed to accommodate semi tractors. The facility also included a dynamometer, wash bay, classrooms, large storage areas and administration space. A new Medical Simulation Center offers state-of-the-art simulation labs with control rooms and debriefing rooms. One of the simulation labs is an emergency trauma room with the same equipment as the regional hospital. This is a one-of-a-kind facility. The third program expansion was for the Public Safety program. A new addition included a fire apparatus room, bunker room, police vehicle bays, mock booking room, jail cells and a mock simulation room that can be set up in numerous configurations for both fire and law enforcement simulations. The final addition onto the facility is a new 11,000 sq. ft. Event Center with pre-event areas and full catering abilities. This area is shared by all of WDT’s programs.
